This review places porous carbon hosts at the center of analysis for Si/C anodes. It summarizes hard templating, soft templating, combined templating, template-free synthesis, and etching strategies, with emphasis on pore-forming mechanisms and structural regulation. It further discusses silicon incorporation and carbon coating strategies in relation to interfacial stability, electronic transport, and volume-expansion accommodation .
